Privacy Policy

Introduction
Dinner Bill Splitter is designed to split and save shared bills without requiring a separate app account or developer-owned login.
Information the app stores
The app may store information you enter or create, including active and saved bills, reference names, dates, notes, people and group names, bill totals, currency choices, weightings, tip or service percentages, adjustments, itemised entries, receipt photos and app preferences.
How information is used
This information is used to calculate bill shares, keep an active bill, create saved History, reopen and edit bills, generate sharing summaries and provide the app's core features.
Local storage
Dinner Bill Splitter is designed to work locally on the device. No separate Dinner Bill Splitter account, email address or password is required for the core app.
iCloud synchronisation
When iCloud is available and enabled for the app, bill information may synchronise through the user's private Apple iCloud account across compatible devices. If iCloud is unavailable or the user is not signed in, the app can continue to operate locally. iCloud availability and synchronisation timing are controlled in part by Apple and may not be immediate.
Receipt photos
Receipt images are optional and are stored with the user's app data. The core app does not require OCR or automatic receipt scanning. Photos may contain information chosen by the user, so users should consider what they include before saving or sharing an image.
Sharing
When a user chooses to share a bill, the app uses standard system sharing. Once information is sent to Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, Notes or another third-party service, that service's privacy practices apply.
No bank connection or payment processing
Dinner Bill Splitter does not require access to bank accounts, does not use open banking for its core features and does not process payments between users.
Website cookies
The website may use essential technologies to operate. With consent, analytics or advertising cookies may be used to understand site usage or support the project.
Advertising
The initial release is intended to be free to use. Advertising may be added in a later release to help keep the app free. If third-party advertising or consent services are enabled, this policy should be reviewed and updated to reflect the released configuration.
Third-party services
The app and website may use or link to third-party services such as Apple iCloud, the Apple App Store, standard Apple sharing services and the main Travel Tools & Tips website. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Children's privacy
Dinner Bill Splitter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to create a custom account or provide personal information to us through the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date.
